Privacy Policy

Kobonoti is a personal project operated by an individual in the Netherlands. We are the controller for the limited data processed by the sync service.

• Local Data (Kobo Database): Your .sqlite file stays in your browser (OPFS). We never upload, view, or store your reading data on our servers.
• Sync Data (Notion Token): If you connect Notion, we store an OAuth access token in a secure key-value store (Cloudflare KV) to enable syncing.
• Cookies: We use one strictly necessary session cookie (kobonoti_session) to identify you during sync. No tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies are used.

We use the following providers to operate the service:

• Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): Hosting and database infrastructure. Covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
• Notion Labs, Inc. (USA): The destination for your synced highlights.

• Session Cookie: Deleted immediately upon closing your browser or logging out.

You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data. Since we only store a token and a session ID, you can exercise your Right to Erasure instantly by clicking "Disconnect" in the app profile menu, which permanently wipes your data from our servers.
